| I have been designing and teaching online workshops on
creative writing since 1995. One of my books, Write What You
Know, is based on the materials I developed for those workshops.
Write What You Know was described by one reviewer as "a
book that can be used and enjoyed by the new writer looking for guidance,
or is a book for the seasoned pro in search of a fresh outlook."
Three tutorials I authored are available on our main site,
http://www.ladybugbooks.com,
for writers interested in increasing their skills in the areas of plot,
humor writing, and dialogue. My poetry has been compared to that
of Alanis Morrisette.
One of my novels, In Line at the Lost and Found,
placed in the 1995 National Writers' Association novel contest. That
same book was commented on by Push Cart Prize nominee Eva Shaderowfsky:
"I love the way you keep this whole thing on
the edge of madness. Well done! . .I smile as I read
on breathlessly. . .It's black humor at its best!"
In 1995, I founded LadybugPress, a book publishing house
that specializes in the works of women, especially new writers and international
writers. I am the publisher at LadybugPress (and do most of our online
work). We have an editorial board who make final manuscript decisions
and every book is a cooperative effort between Ladybug and the author,
at least creatively. Our new line is taking advantage of innovations
in media and our experience in establishing two Internet radio stations,
with new CD and audio books on CD coming out in
the fall of 2001.
Our web site, http://www.ladybugbooks.com,
features one of the best online educational writer's groups on the web
as well as selling books and providing other resources and information.
Our monthly e-zine, http://www.ladybugflights.com,
is a rare combination of news and entertainment, and our online radio:
and
a teen station, teentalknetwork.com.
Our radio stations are almost unique among the over 1,500 on the internet.
Not only are we part of only a handful who actually produce materials specifically
for web
broadcasting, we are one of the few focused on women,
LadybugLive, and
one of a few offering teen programming, TeenTalkNetwork.
We are always
looking for good interviews for our interview hosts and
for people who want to do regular programs on subjects that interest them.
We love to cooperate with women's businesses by providing
a forum for information. This can be done through both the e-zine
(monthly articles) and through our radio, especially LadybugLive.
