It's been a year now since I started my business. I call myself a recovering academic because I left a tenured faculty position at the Univesity of New Mexico to start my own business and become a coach. I taught Business & Society and Business Ethics at the Anderson Schools of Management for about 9 years before realizing that I was disenchanted enough with my job to leave. 

What Is Coaching? Coaching is a gift that you give yourself. It is commonly accepted practice to hire coaches to enhance our physical performance - e.g., athletic coaches, personal trainers, etc. And yet we rarely allow ourselves that sort of one-on-one support and training in other aspects of our lives - such as career, family, & relationships. A personal & professional coach can do for your life what a personal trainer can do for your body! 

I am 46 years old, have 5 children (2 mine, Sarah-20 and Joel-14; and 3 stepchildren, Yoni-17, Tal-15, and Ariel-12), and have been married for the second time for almost 5 years. I was widowed after 20 years of my first marriage about 6 and a half years ago. The death of my husband completely and utterly changed my life from a spiritual perspective. It was really my spiritual awakening, and I have been working on myself and my personal/spiritual development ever since. 

I grew up in San Francisco (although I was born in Providence, Rhode Island) and lived there for 29 years. A little more than 10 years ago we picked up and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico when I was offered a faculty position after completing my doctorate. 

I now have a coaching practice which specializes in women in business. I have an MBA and Ph.D. in Business Administration, both from the University of California at Berkeley. My Bachelor's degree is in Psychology, from the University of California at Davi . I've been developing my business since January 1997, when I decided this was my path. Coaching people --my nuclear family, my kids, my husbands, my students, etc. all my life----but I never put a name to it until I began running it as a business.

I received my coach training from Lifespring, Inc. in Dallas, Texas, where I took over 500 hours of training over 14 months of flying back and forth to Dallas. I am a member of the International Coach Federation and founder and host of the Greater Albuquerque chapter.

I offer a free one hour initial consultation to all who are interested in learning more about coaching.
